Apple Picking in Gays Mills, Wisconsin

Toby and I have started a tradition of traveling up to Gays Mills, Wisconsin to see the beautiful fall foliage and pick some delicious apples. On our route, we like to stop at antique shops and local wineries. First, we start in Marquette, Iowa where we stop at the Schoolhouse Mall and Barr House Antiques & Gifts (this place is in the midst of selling their store, so I'm not sure how much longer they will stay open). A great winery to stop at is Eagles Landing Winery. I enjoyed their "Campfire Hootch."
We then make our way over the beautiful Mississippi River to Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin. This year we stopped at multiple shops that we will remember for next year! Check's Antique Shop was a quaint little shop that has been open for almost 50 years; the people were very friendly and let us know what their plans were for next year! The Planted Tree Gallery & Gifts was a great little shop filled with items from (most) local vendors around the area. The Cannery was another great little gift shop filled with home decor items, candles, and much much more! They also had sweet treats like fudge! Yummy, I almost couldn't resist!
After Prairie Du Chien, it was apple picking time! We were disappointed that we didn't do more research last year because when we went, we didn't get to pick apples... Isn't that the whole point of going to an apple orchard?
Anyways, this year I researched and called to be sure. There are so many orchards in the area but the one that I know you can pick apples at is James Fleming Jr Orchard. There were rows upon rows of apple trees and the workers were overly nice. They do have prepicked apples for those who don't want to pick! They also have a little area where you can feed and pet goats. This was definitely one of my favorite parts of the trip! Don't judge... :)
After picking our apples we went to Sunrise Orchards, which I call the "Apple Warehouse." I'm not kidding, this building is full of everything apple related. We, of course, bought Apple Cider Donuts, Apple Cider, and Caramel Apples! The views outside are beautiful and they do have benches where you can sit and enjoy the scenery.
After buying WAY too many donuts, we headed back home and went back through Prairie Du Chien. We stopped at Huckleberry's Family Restaurant. It was delicious!! The people were very nice and the food was amazing. I definitely recommend this place and we will be sure to go back!

My fall inspired top is from Dixie Magnolia Boutique.
